Company ID
The nine- to twelve-digit number the General Commercial Registry assigns to every business when it is entered.
The company ID is a Greek company's primary identifier. The Business Register issues it on registration, it never changes, and it is not reissued to anyone else after a company is deleted.
Eight digits, no letters. A legal person's code usually begins with 1 (companies) or 8 (non-profit associations and foundations); a sole trader receives one too.
Unlike many countries, Greece has no separate taxpayer number — the Tax and Customs Board uses the same company ID. The only separate number is the VAT number, issued to VAT-registered businesses.
